At Samsung’s IFA Unpacked event earlier today, the company revealed a swath of big studios who are working on content for the Gear VR headset. Among them are some well known names like DreamWorks, Marvel, and IMAX, along with those known well to the VR community like Playful, the creator’s of Lucky’s Tale.

Mobile VR in Samsung’s Gear VR headset is sure to be a different beast than what we’ll find on PCs through the lenses of the Oculus Rift. During the company’s IFA press presentation today, Samsung revealed a number of huge production studios and several game studios that are working on content for Gear VR.

With a strong lineup of both production studios and video-on-demand services, it’s clear that Samsung thinks that VR video is going to be a big deal in the world of mobile VR. The company shared a slide during their presentation revealing that some of the biggest names in entertainment are working to bring content to Gear VR:

Marvel’s Avengers; Age of Ultron offers Samsung Gear VR users to have exclusive access to Tony Stark’s Lab inside the all new Avengers Tower.

IMAX offers samples of Hollywood and documentary films in a virtual theatre with Samsung Gear VR – the next best thing to a live IMAX experience.

DreamWorks VR from DreamWorks Animation allows Samsung Gear VR users to interact and laugh with DreamWorks characters and content in a whole new way like never before.

Playful is the studio behind Lucky’s Tale an exciting third-person platformer that was announced back during E3 to be published by Oculus VR. With the announced that Playful is now working on Gear VR, it’s a good bet that they’ll be bringing Lucky’s tale to the new VR headset, but we could see a unique title to better fit mobile VR’s limitations.
