brendan-iribe-nasdaqThis one flew way under the radar. After the Facebook acquisition, Oculus VR CEO, Brendan Iribe, has been making the rounds in the successful startup track. In April, Iribe joined the opening ceremony of NASDAQ stock exchange as part of the invite-only f.ounders event.

F.ounders, which has been called ‘The Rolls Royce of tech events’, is an invite-only event aimed at business founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and angel investors. Past attendees include the founders of Tesla and SpaceX, Dropbox, Twitter, Skype, Netflix, YouTube, AOL, and more. Now Oculus VR, ranking up there with any of them as a start-up success, joins the list.

As part of the event, Iribe participated in the opening bell ceremony of NASDAQ, the second largest stock exchange in the world. A photo tweeted by Iribe shows the Oculus CEO at up on the famous 7-story tall NASDAQ MarketSite video tower in New York City’s Times Square.

Right around the same time, Iribe swung by the New York Stock Exchange and appeared as a guest on CNBC Closing Bell to talk about the Facebook acquisition. Iribe was also a keynote speaker at the 2014 Technology Investor Forum just over a week ago.

Oculus might be Iribe’s biggest startup success to date, but it certainly isn’t his first. Prior to virtual reality, he was the co-founder and CEO of Scaleform which was acquired by Autodesk for $36 million. Following that, he was the Chief Product Officer at Gaikai which was eventually acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment for $380 million.

Facebook’s stock today is trading at $63.34, just about equal to the day the it purchased Oculus VR at the end of March.
