Looking for some new Beat Saber levels to play? Well, the block-slashing rhythm game is getting a new paid music pack today from Interscope Records which features seven tracks from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Maroon 5 and more.

Update (May 27th, 2021):  The Interscope Mixtape music pack is now available starting today, May 27th. You can get the whole music pack for $10, or $2 per track.

All seven songs feature five difficulty settings, which also includes multiplayer, making for 35 new beatmaps. A new environment has also been added to the game featuring pulsing bright, neon lights. Check out the full track list:

  • Kendrick Lamar – DNA.
  • LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock – Party Rock Anthem
  • OneRepublic – Counting Stars
  • The Pussycat Dolls – Don’t Cha
  • Limp Bizkit – Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)
  • Maroon 5 – Sugar
  • Gwen Stefani – The Sweet Escape ft. Akon

Beat Games also released a teaser video. That video, and the original article announcing the music pack, follows below.

Original Article (May 25th, 2021): The video hints that we’re at least getting a track from LMFAO, or more precisely ‘Party Rock Anthem’ by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, and ‘DNA’ from Kendrick Lamar.

Oculus also tweeted a set of clues which might just point to at least seven tracks.

Interscope is a record label owned by Universal Music Group, and represents a number of headliner musicians including Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Dr. Dre, Eminem, DaBaby, and many more. Clues aside, it’s not entirely clear who else we’ll see on the new music pack, but you can bet it will probably be upbeat and bass-heavy.

The Interscope Mixtape music pack will follow the most recent Beat Saber OST 4 drop, which brought four free tracks to the game back in March. It’s not clear whether the upcoming content update will be paid or free (see update).

Like the game itself, the Interscope Mixtape music pack is set to be available on all major VR headsets, including Oculus Quest, Oculus RiftSteamVR headsets, and PSVR.

Wow, FB helped them get a band we’ve heard of! Now all they got to do is simulate a Venice Beach Bar like in the video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wyx6JDQCslE

    • VR5

LMFAO is smaller than all the bands (or producers, in Timbaland’s case) in previous paid song packs, but good for you that you’re getting something you like. I’m also looking forward to this, even more so to Kendrick Lamar.

Had no idea Timbaland ever got up to a third of a billion hits on Youtube. That’s the about as much as a Bollywood hit will get, but LMFAO has got well over two billion hits for at least one song and three quarter billion for another. None of them as much as the top Latin dance tunes and others which Sony Music controls…

        • VR5

Timbaland has more than one successful song. And Youtube is neither the only nor the most common place to listen to music. Radio airplay and Spotify would be better metrics.

LMFAO is what you call a one hit wonder.

          • guest

More like a two hit wonder. Sometimes quality is better than quantity. None of these has-beens have any rhythm so FB can have them!

          • VR5

It’s not uncommon for a one hit wonder to have another direct follow up hit but it already marks a decline and down the line they’re remembered only for their original success.

But they are remembered and a worthy addition to this song pack. It’s just that previous BS features were already very recognizable and successful artists. LMFAO being comparatively smaller doesn’t mean they aren’t big too. It’s a matter of perspective.

You said radio airplay, then just look at Billboard’s charts. Much more reliable than Spotify”s streaming demographic. Even iTunes is going to reflect some sub-demographic perspective.

As if Green Day and Linkin Park were total unknowns?

I remember when they were teenagers waking up the whole neighborhood. Never thought they would amount to anything. Its somehow very appropriate they are getting royalties from FB now!

  • G’Zilla

I now have been buying new music packs, but 7 songs for $10, i dont know, is that a good deal really? and the scenes are usually not that much different

    • MeowMix

These are high priced popular songs by popular bands. You’re paying $1.4 per song (w/ beat maps), which IMO for the caliber of music is a fair price.

Trust me, this DLC is the testing ground to getting more in demand music. Prior to this DLC, most of the DLC tracks have been very niche. This is one of the first ‘mainstream’ tracks (I’d also say Imagine Dragons is another popular band that’s unique to BS, and ironically they’re also signed with Interscope so perhaps their relationship w/ FB is growing).

If this DLC does well, then I expect even more popular bands will make their way to Beat Saber.

*edit* I just checked on iTunes, the songs are $1.29 each. so you’re essentially paying an extra 10 cents for the beat maps. Worth it IMO

I can´t believe this model of bussyness works

  • TechPassion

The problem is this “game” is a boring, repetetive sht. 5 minutes was enough for me, forever.

    • Lynx

Why are you playing on easy? There’s your problem. The game is more fun on Expert+. Too easy for a god like you? Add modifiers.

  • JT

With Kendrick Lamar on this I will PASS! Rap is garbage and the lowest form of music!

  • PK

i really don’t get why they don’t have new releases every single week. this could be such a huge thing for not just a few major labels, but indie labels and independent musicians. they could promote the best modders to partner up with musicians of every style, and everyone could make money, i know i’d buy them if i liked any of the tracks. i just don’t get this tentative approach.

  • Guest2

After I ended up on the FBI’s most wanted list I’m constantly on the run, never staying in one place longer than a few days and forced to change disguises and identities to stay hidden from the eye of the law.

Was it worth it just to mod Beat Saber with custom songs, you ask? Well, looking at this rotting pile of manure disguising as a song pack – Yes it was, son. Yes it was…

  • Kalgima

35% off the per-song price means you have to like at least 5 out of the 7 for it to be worthwhile (are there so many people such undiscriminating music tastes?). The game needs a lot more music variety or people will soon get bored of repeatedly playing the 5 songs that they do like out of the 70 genre challenged catalog. Personally, I’d rather pay a 100% premium on a song I like than get 35% off a song I don’t.
