Smilegate announced that the Crossfire universe’s first VR game, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, is coming to PSVR 2 and SteamVR headsets next month.

Launching on August 29th, Crossfire: Sierra Squad promises both a 13-mission solo campaign and a number of co-op modes, which includes 50 squad campaign missions for both single and two-player co-op, and a Horde Mode for up to four-player co-op.

The studio says there are 39 types of weapons at your disposal, including pistols, rifles, grenades and sniper rifles—more than enough ways to dispatch the game’s 17 different types of enemies.

Here’s how Smilegate describes the action:

In Crossfire: Sierra Squad, you are the leader of an elite paramilitary fireteam within the Global Risk organization. As the story narrative will explain to you in-game, during your mission you will unexpectedly tangle with the rival Black List organization and find out that there is something very big at play which calls for your expertise. Battle a variety of crafty enemies in a relentless search for the truth, and prove why you were selected as the intrepid leader of the most feared special unit in existence – Sierra Squad.

You can now wishlist Crossfire: Siera Squad on PSVR 2 and Steam. When the game launches next month, it will be priced at $30.

More high octane gaming for PS VR 2. The headset continues to rack up more titles. It’ll only keep going up from here with Firewall, Aces of Thunder, Project Wingman, Arizona Sunshine 2, Behemoth, Wanderer, Lo-fi, RE4 Remake, etc.

Plug and Play console VR high fidelity baby!

    • Leisure Suit Barry

      PSVR2 is dead.

You’re literally listing games 99% of people don’t care about.

      • Ron Devou

        Grow up

      • vancleefmustache

I have been a bit busy with playing PSVR2 that I haven’t had much chance to drop in here and chat with you since February. How have things been. Any good Meta games that have come out since that time that I should check out? Saw that Battle Bows came out this last month. Wow! Bow and arrows in a VR game. What will those Facebook folks think of next?

        • Ron Devou

Indeed I’ve been thoroughly enjoying mine since launch. I havent used my index, g2 or quest much since psvr2 launched. It’s an excellent headset at a great price.

        • Leisure Suit Barry

Why would I know what Meta games have come out? I don’t use my Quest for gaming, again 95% of the library is shovelware.

Meanwhile I have over 130 PSVR1 games and have been playing PSVR for 7 years, how about you? Or are you just supporting VR now and a jolly come lately?

      • Mrfox Babbit

Ah yes the classic take of “its not what I chose to buy so its crap”. Take a seat at the kids table.

        • Leisure Suit Barry

I’ve owned multiple VR headsets since 2016, bought over 130 PSVR games alone. The same excuses are being used now as they were 7 years ago for a game library which is 95% shovelware/mid indie games, but the excuses were that VR is in it’s infancy, PS4 isn’t powerful enough, VR will become more mainstream over time etc.

You can carry the torch of making excuses for another 7 years, I’m done.

  • Andrew Jakobs

Looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward playing it on the PC.

    • ViRGiN

It looks like mindless hold fire button and it automatically reloads for you, paired with lazy full screen scoping.

      • Andrew Jakobs

Yeah, so? That’s a heck of a lot of fun. Maybe not your type of game but many people like arcade type shooters.

        • ViRGiN

Oh wow! Just like many people enjoy Steven Seagal movies.

          • Andrew Jakobs

But many do like Steven Seagal movies and all those B/Z-movies.

          • ViRGiN

Yeah, so? That’s a heck of a lot of fun. Maybe not your type of movie

          • Andrew Jakobs

Huh? You really make no sense as I agree that those movies can be a lot of fun. But then again, you just love trolling, that’s why more and more people keep blocking you. Maybe try to actually post something constructive.

          • ViRGiN

Sounds like it bothers you more than it bothers me. In fact, it doesn’t bother me at all. Some people have to shield themselves from different opinions. If I were a PCVR fanboy who strongly believes PCVR isn’t dead, in fact it’s better than ever before, I would probably block myself cause it would ruin everything I believe in if I got to read my own comments.

          • Andrew Jakobs

But you don’t merely have a different opinion, you try to ‘slaughter’ anyone, like a real troll, who doesn’t agree with your opinion, and are just plain negative against PCVR even though without it there wouldn’t be your precious Quest, which you seem so worship, even though a lit if quest users use it primarily for……PCVR…

          • ViRGiN

LMAO, PCVR could have get stuck at build-it-yourself-3dof-tracker-headset level, and standalone would have came anyway. You are giving too much credit for PCVR – it’s absolutetly obsolete. Which PCVR headset with inside-out is doing calculations on PC hardware? lmao none. you pnk ass.

as every single time, you have no data at all for your ‘quest for pcvr’ worshipping. true, half of PCVR is using quest, but never, not even close half of quest users are using pcvr. lol. nothing to do with money. it’s absolutetly pointless. you better stick to your indie games, you have backlog for years. why even comment?

          • Mrfox Babbit

Wow, after all these years youre STILL lurking on this site making an ass of yourself with every single post? Why bother at all? Pathetic yet still impressive.
            Bravo /s.

          • ViRGiN

So i was right throughout the years, despite being hated on for saying things that triggers people.

          • TheVoiceOfReason

            lol nah

          • Mrfox Babbit

Stop feeding the vapid troll Andrew. Youre engaging with a leaning fence post.

          • ViRGiN

you are troll worshipping pcvr. no sane person would worship pcvr. so you’re trolling.

          • Ookami

lmao you just proved Andrew’s point.

    • Ron Devou

Will be playing on psvr2. See you there!

  • Leisure Suit Barry

PSVR2 is a dead platform, anyone with any shred of intelligence can see that.

Well done Sony for ballsing it up!

    • ViRGiN

Yeah it looks like it follows PS Vita path.

Sony can’t compete without it’s own proper high end vr library, and it’s not like they can make standalone either as all development is done for Android.

    • kool

We’ll see how it does this holiday, I have a feeling it will do well. With the release of quest 3 and apple headset that should at least drum up some interest for PS5 owners who want to check out the metaverse.

      • ViRGiN

does it really matter if its tied to constant beat saber/job simulator/pavlov playtime?
oldschool games, just this time offered for ps5 owners while severly limiting their experience by being tethered, and lacking audio.

having yet another platform with the very same outdated games isn’t really all that important at all.
just like pico 4 – nobody cares, its wireless pcvr headset for meta haters. also tied near-exclusively to the very same games as on PSVR2.

        • kool

Aww I forgot you never got to play any ps games lol. Psvr2 had a lot of aaa games, I’ve never played any of the games you named. Even if they just rerelease psvr games I’m good. And psvr2 audio is leagues above quest what you talking about?

          • ViRGiN

Psvr2 doesn’t have audio and you know it lol

          • kool

It has tempest 3d audio and the 3d pulse headset. If you think meta can do better audio than Sony you must be young.

          • ViRGiN

It is Meta that is working on accuratetly reproducing audio based on 3D space, not Sony.
Makes you look like a troll.
