Cloudhead Games, one of the earliest VR studios to begin production on a project for the Oculus Rift, today announced that they’ve signed Jeremy Soule, the composer behind Skyrim (2011) and many others, to score the company’s forthcoming title, The Gallery: Six Elements.
The Gallery: Six Elements was born from a Kickstarter by Cloudhead Games all the way back in April, 2013, which raised more than $80,000 for the made-for-Rift adventure game.
Yesterday in a blog post, the company announced that Jeremy Soule would be scoring the game.
Cloudhead Games is very, very excited to announce that we have a new member of The Gallery team, and you maaaay have heard of him…
His name is Jeremy Soule. He makes amazing music.
If you don’t recognize the name (though I expect you might), you’ll no doubt recognize his body of work: Skyrim, Morrowind, Harry Potter, Secret of Evermore, KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights… these are just a few of the titles that Jeremy has elevated to great heights through his beautiful compositions.
As Cloudhead Games’ Audio Director, I am especially honored to have Jeremy on board, and I have no doubt that he will bring a sense of beauty and wonder to The Gallery that we couldn’t have achieved without him.
The video above gives a brief but beautiful teaser of Soule’s work on the game.
If he writes anything even half as good as my favorite track from Skyrim, I’m sure The Gallery’s music will be worth looking forward to.
