New ADR1FT Trailer Shows 9 Minutes of Gorgeous Gameplay

2

Developer Three One Zero has a 9 minute trailer for its ‘astronaut in peril’ title ADR1FT, which also promises ground-up Oculus Rift support. Debuting at the Video Game Awards last year, it highlights why we’re excited about this title.

The stunning yet eerie aesthetic and premise for ADR1FT is something that caught our eye when it first crossed our radar last year. The virtual reality enabled adventure, which is promising as a virtual reality title for many reasons, one being the sense of immersive isolation you can achieve through VR. Alien: Isolation’s hidden DK2 support once unlocked proved terrifying even before you encountered the titular beast, because when you’re marooned in space and your senses are surrounded, it’s incredibly compelling.

The title, which promises ‘ground up’ support for virtual reality, is due to ship this year – although the precise window is yet to be announced. We can’t wait to strap ourselves in to experience this beautiful looking gameworld though.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.

This also seems like a great game to benefit from LeapMotion support..

Looks fantastic, if the developers can get creative with in game objectives and provide a decent plot I can see the game catching a lot of attention. What impresses me is how many titles 505 games has published over the last couple years with no mention of outsourced funding. Seems like a a great business model other game publishers should be learning from.
