From the first time that Oculus revealed the ‘Crescent Bay’ prototype back at Oculus Connect 2014, they said they knew that no matter how good they made the headphones, some people would still prefer to use their own. Above you’ll see a short video of how easy it is to remove the Oculus Rift headphones. It’s a neat design that doesn’t rely on wires, and results in a completely flush finish once removed, making it perfect for those who want to bring their own headphones. There’s a small switch on the inside of the headset’s frame which, when flipped, unlocks the headphone. Reattaching is as easy as pressing the new one into place until it locks in.
