At a press conference at the Tokyo Games Show in Japan, Sony just announced that it’s virtual reality device for the Playstation 4 will be officially called ‘Playstation VR’
The Tokyo Games Show – running this week, is a traditional grandstand for Japanese gaming companies to announce Japanese-centric technologies and was for many years one of the most important dates in the gaming calendar.
At a special press conference to mark the show’s launch, Sony have just announced that it’s virtual reality headset has finally received an official title – it’s to be called ‘Playstation VR’.
The VR system, which launched at GDC 2014, has until now just been known under it’s codename ‘Project Morpheus, this new announcement marks the beginning of the retail drive on the road to the product’s release in Q2 2016.
