Sony continue to leave no doubts as to their commitment to the virtual reality space they’re about to enter in 2016, with another slew of titles developed for their PlayStation VR platform. Here they are the latest trailers for them, all lined up for you.

The PlayStation experience has officially kicked off, with a launch keynote featuring the PlayStation VR platform prominently. Alongside more traditional gaming titles, there were multiple developed-for-VR games revealed that demonstrate Sony is either very carefully curating a library of PSVR titles that emphasise their reputation for seeking out original IP, or they’re wildy snapping up anything they can to bolster the PSVR launch list.

It feels very much like the former to us, judging by the following trailers, newly released at PlayStation Experience today. Here they are all neatly rounded up for you.


The Modern Zombie Taxi Co. – Vitei Backroom

A golf title where you take the form of the titular 100ft Robots to lay waste to entire buildings in this Gundam-styled PlayStation VR title from developers No Goblin. Seems this one is laced with a keen sense of humour and more than a dose of friendly jabs at the genre. It looks fun, but we’re keen to find out the control scheme used here.

Job Simulator – Owlchemy Labs

Job Simulator, the virtual reality title by Owlchemy Labs, is coming to PlayStation VR. Announced at PlayStation Experience today, the title is now set to come to all three major headsets.
Initially debuting at the reveal of the HTC Vive earlier this year, the title capitalizes on the motion tracked hand controllers of each of the aforementioned VR headsets by encouraging interaction with numerous in-game items. Rather than wielding futuristic weaponry or fantastical magic, Job Simulator gives people a chance to interact with everyday items in everyday places—all of which is interpreted in a cartoony style through the lenses of robots who attempt to recreate what it was like for humans to perform jobs before they were replaced. So far the developer has shown three stages—kitchen, office, and convenience store.
Golem is currently in development for PSVR by the Seattle-based studio, and looks to be a ‘virtual reality within a virtual reality’, as the protagonist seemingly controls a golem, or animated anthropomorphic creature, through a moonlit world.

Having recently announced a sequel to cult-classic Psychonauts (2005), Double Fine has just announced that the studio is also working on a standalone virtual reality experience titled Psychonauts In the Rhombus of Ruin. The game tells the story of what happens immediately after the end of Psychonauts and will bridge the gap to the forthcoming sequel. Not much else is known thus far however, and there are no hints from the all too brief 15 second teaser (above).

Eagle Flight – Ubisoft

Eagle Flight started as a Ubisoft tech demo, among a number of other VR concept experiences that the studio showed off earlier this year. Previously the tech demo was built thematically as part of the Assassin’s Creed universe, but from the teaser trailer it looks like the game will inhabit a world of its own.

In the tech demo, the game has players inhabiting the bodies of eagles, flying through about a massive city. The player’s head is used to control the direction of the bird while a controller is used for speeding up and slowing down. The early version we saw featured surprisingly compelling capture the flag gameplay where players would snatch the flag and try to race to capture it before being intercepted by another player. Players can fly down into the streets of the city, under bridges, and through gaps in an effort to lose their opponents in some rather exhilarating chases.

    Very cool to see so many new VR games coming out for the PSVR!
    I wonder though, so many of these games seem to be breaking the rules in terms of comfortable VR experiences that most VR-dev talks refer to. Especially the Ubisoft game nearly made me nauseus just seeing the trailer! It will be very interesting to see how they have handled these issues once the games come out.

      People get nauseous flying in small airplanes, that doesn’t mean no one’s doing it. If you’re gonna simulate flight in VR expect some people to feel queasy. If they don’t you’re not doing it right.

      I had the exact same worry. It still worries me, but we just won’t know how it feels till we try for ourselves. One thing is for certain, if we want VR to stick around as a viable entertainment platform, it needs to be comfortable to use for extended periods of time.

    Go ask your eye doc what he/she thinks about strapping an HD screen two inches in front of your face and staring at it for hours.

    Seriously, talk to your REAL eye doctor, people, and stop listening to the billion dollar talking heads and their paid-off commentators. No, really, go talk to your REAL AND ACTUAL eye doctor who has an ACTUAL responsibility for your eye and vision health. Don’t listen to ANYONE ELSE.

    Worst gaming gimmick of all time since the powerglove and, just think, 100 times more dangerous as well. Only $500 bucks for permanent vision damage, what a deal!!!

    I will pass — as will anyone else who knows anything about eye health.
