With the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive shipping one year ago this month, Valve is getting in on the ‘VR Anniversary’ action with deep discounts on more than 200 VR titles and free-play access to Raw Data (2016) and Tilt Brush (2016).

Oculus and HTC’s own VR anniversary sales and celebrations have come and gone, but Steam’s VR Anniversary Sale and free-play access runs until Monday, April 10th at 10AM PT.

Until then, here’s 224 SteamVR games on sale, and a breakdown for you:

    Okay at first I didn’t mind because I have an agency budget to test the most compelling experiences/games, and even then I’m quickly running dry of my weekly ceiling.

    VR experiences pricing is completely out-of-hand. It has created a vacuum for a tsunami of very bad quality experience to be over-price under the pretext of being VR, especially on Steam, while the quality experiences are occluded in this ocean of crap by their way too high entry price.

    At least the PSVR and Oculus platforms have quality control barriers, even if sometimes they’re ludicrous (like backward compatibility on the Samsung GearVr platform). As if the costly headset weren’t a barrier to entry.

      The pile of crap on Steam is, I agree, absurd. There are good games in there! …just sorta-hidden. I just picked up Bounce the other day, solid physics puzzle game, it’s very Incredible-Machiney. Each level’s room looks severely different from the previous one, which is rare right now…too many devs go for the bare minimum.

      Unfortunately, the better games HAVE to be pricey to stand a chance of recovering development costs. PCVR just doesn’t have a massive install base, so if you want a premium game, it’s gonna be premium priced.

      It’s the double edged sword of supporting indie developers, you’ll always have a huge wave of people putting out shit trying to trick people into buying their games. But sometimes you find a diamond.

      The nice thing about steam though is you can refund the crap. So I don’t mind as much because of that the other platforms all sales are final with out major hassles. Now Steam just recently announced a changed from their Green light process what effect this will have reducing crap is yet to be seen.

    This is first time I’ve heard of Serious Sam Fusion.

    • Hey, it’s basically a hub for Serious Sam VR and Serious Sam HD games that brings cross platform play and supports VR vs “flat” multiplayer.
      Through Fusion you can play SSVR: The First Encounter and SSVR: The Second Encounter.
      Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is stand-alone.

    Picked up Valkyrie and Raw Data, now that my VR rig has a card that can handle those games. I’m surprised that some games aren’t on the sale, like Airmech command, Sports Bar VR, Out of Ammo and Obduction.
