The International Dota 2 Championships have returned to the KeyArena in Seattle this year to see twenty teams compete in front of crowds in excess of 15,000 people. Can’t make it in person? Why not pop into AltspaceVR and enjoy the action with your fellow VR nerds?
AltspaceVR, a social VR space well known for hosting everything from SuperBowl parties to DnD nights in their medieval tavern, will be hosting all 6 days of the International Dota 2 Championships’ Main Event.
AltspaceVR’s viewing of the Main Event starts at 1:00 pm EDT on August 3rd and will return every day at the same time up until the final match on August 8th. Sixteen top rated teams will play in double elimination format to see who will take home the $6,413,055 (and growing) first place prize, with the current prize pool at a staggering $17,814,043.
AltspaceVR doesn’t require a VR headset to join, but it’s highly recommended if you want to get the full experience of sharing the space with other rabid Dota fans.
You can check out the Dota 2 Championship bracket page to see who’s competing in the lower and upper brackets. It may be useful to keep it open inside AltspaceVR’s in-game browser!
