Social VR platform AltSpaceVR has announced that users can now communicate via emoji. The initial release includes six emoticons that “let you smile, frown, laugh, heart, high-five, and wave,” according to a press release announcing the new feature.
Pressing number keys 1-6 activates the emojis, with 1 corresponding to “smile,” 2 to “frown” and so on. Alternatively, users can open their camera and choose emojis there.
The update is a small but potentially significant way for AltSpaceVR to expand the emotional palette users have to draw from for visual communication.
