For perhaps longer than we can remember, phones and other popular devices have had third-party vendors offering various accessories, from skins to screen protectors. Now VR gets the same treatment as Hyperkin reveals a host of VR accessories.
Shown off at E3 2016, the company’s initial VR offerings are made for the HTC Vive. Hyperkin is making things like protective covers for your headset and controllers, lens protectors, durable extra wrist straps, extension cables, and more.
The company plans to release these in Q4 this year, in smaller physical stores as well as with retail partners. For the pricing I was told to expect something like $25 for a pack of three headset skins for example.
Other companies like VR Cover and VR Lens Lab have been making functional accessories for VR headsets for some time now, though Hyperkin is the first we’ve seen to offer skins for the HTC Vive.
