EVE:Valkyrie Alpha Build Now Available to Selected Players

EVE:Valkyrie, the virtual reality space combat title from CCP Games, is now available in alpha form to selected, registered players.

One of the first titles to be announced from a major publisher to be built from the ground up for virtual reality, EVE:Valkyrie has been around in one form or another for some time now. After its debut at CCP’s dedicated community event ‘EVE Fanfest’ back in 2013, its evolution charted alongside that of Oculus’ from DK1 to Crescent Bay.

Well, those DK2 owners eager to get their hands on an early build of this hotly anticipated multi-player VR title (that’ll be everyone then) rejoice, it’s now available to selected players in Alpha form. Sign-ups for the program went live a few weeks back and those selected (and it does seem to be a limited number) should have received a notification email and a download link to the alpha build in their online profile area.

If you’ve not got that email however, don’t despair, sign-ups are still ongoing presumably for later stages of the alpha. You don’t need an EVE:Online account to register.

If you’re one of the lucky few to have access, let us know what you think in the comments below.

EVE:Valkyrie currently has no official release date, but will be coming to the PC and the Oculus Rift as well as Playstation 4 and Project Morpheus soon after those VR headsets launch.
