Gang Beasts (2014), the multiplayer brawler made famous on PC, is finally heading to PlayStation 4 next week. Although the December 12th launch date means you can technically buy the game, it won’t have PSVR support until “some time after launch as a free update,” says Double Fine Production community manager James Spafford.

Recently announced on the PlayStation EU blog, Spafford maintains that news surrounding PSVR support should follow “soon.”

Gang Beasts is currently in Early Access on Steam (no VR support) and the Oculus Store for Rift. The game, which features boneless-but-brutal beat ’em up action with the hard-to-control characters, is currently sitting at a [3.5/5] on the Oculus Store, although some of the bad scores are admittedly from people who couldn’t get the game to work in the first place, something that hypothetically shouldn’t be a problem in the confines of a console platform.

Gang Beasts will launch with local and online multiplayer, as well as several new modes including 2 vs. 2 soccer matches, and a cooperative mode where up to 4 players battle against waves of floppy thugs. Check out the trailer below to get a better idea of what’s in store.
