Join Road to VR for Daily Oculus Connect Recaps in AltspaceVR

Oculus’ 2nd developer conference ‘Connect’ is almost here, starting on the 22nd September running for three days. For this year’s event, Road to VR are taking to the social virtual reality social platform AltspaceVR to bring you the chance to enjoy a daily virtual reality recap of everything that happened during the event, hosted by our very own Executive Editor, Ben Lang.

AltspaceVR has quickly evolved into one of the most significant players in the fledgling social-VR space. The platform and its host company have enjoyed significant investment since its public unveiling last year.

So, given the rich and expansive social platform AltspaceVR now represents, Road to VR have partnered to bring those unable to attend Oculus Connect 2 closer to the news; we’ll be running three events to capture the essence of the conference. You’ll be able to log onto AltspaceVR and enter a special Road to VR virtual venue where our roving reporter on the ground, Ben Lang, will give you a recap of the day’s news and take questions from the virtual audience too.

There’ll be room for around 75 lucky attendees who will gain admittance on a first come, first serve basis. Details on the events are below. If you have issues installing or using AltspaceVR after sign up and installation, check the application help page here.

Last week the company made some exciting announcements demonstrating the platform’s continued evolution. Samsung’s Gear VR is now supported as is the HTC Vive, which means, thanks to AltspaceVR‘s cross-platform capabilities, anyone owning any one of those headsets can enjoy social interactions with anyone logged on. Finally, the launch of AltspaceVR‘s open and dedicated developer SDK underlines the company’s commitment to enriching the social VR experience and offering developers a light-touch way create experiences for the platform.

We’ll be back with more details and reminders later in the week.
