VRLO is a London based VR event which celebrated its fourth outing in March, just prior to VR landing (or not) on people’s doorsteps worldwide. Road to VR‘s Jonathan Tustain was there to report from the show armed with a question: Is VR hype or hope?
Organised and sponsored by creative agency and digital production company REWIND, designed to bring together the growing VR community and industry members in the UK to talk about and demonstrate the latest in immersive technology.
In this wrap up video for the spring edition of VRLO, now on its fourth event, Road to VR‘s Jonathan Tustain talks to Richard Stevens of Opto [1m 06s], a new mobile VR solution featuring integrated audio, Sennheiser [1m 35s] on their new ambisonic microphone and developer program, Ed Barton from Curiscope [2m 05s] who were showing their neat t-shirt activated educational AR software off and 360 VR film-makers Surround Vision [2m 20s] talk about their recent successes and future plans.
VRLO’s healthy growth over just four events is a microcosm of the UK VR industry as a whole. It’s a nice reminder that VR innovation and creativity is not centred on the west coast of the USA as the weight of media coverage emanating from there would lead you to believe, but is of course rampant throughout the world.
