Attendees of Immersed Europe could get their chance to step into the shoes of Tom Cruise on his action packed ride off the side of Airbus A400M Atlas in the new Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation (2015).
The experience was created by InMediaStudio in partnership with Paramount Pictures and MEC Global, and features a recreation of a scene in the latest installment of the Mission Impossible franchise where Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is locked out of a military cargo plane because his colleagues can’t remotely open the door.
The VR experience, which uses an Oculus Rift DK2, full body harness and fan for added immersion, even had one visitor saying that “it was the coolest experience!” (“Era la experiencia más guapa!”).
Immersed Europe will take place September 3rd through 4th in Murcia, Spain at the Facultad de Economía y Empresa, Campus de Espinardo.
“With thanks to Paramount Pictures, MEC Global a GroupM company, and InMediaStudio, attendees are going to get to hang off the side of an airplane for dear life just like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 5! Combined with an Oculus Rift HMD, people will be amazed,” said Neil Schneider, Executive Director of The Immersive Technology Alliance and founder of Meant to Be Seen 3D.
For anyone planning on making their way to Immersed Europe, a free exhibition will be open to the general public on the 4th, but only pre-registered ticket holders will be able to enter. Register here in advance for general admission tickets and free expo hall admission.
