Moto Racer 4 is a motocross and racing bike racing title inbound for the Sony PlayStation VR platform and if this trailer is anything to go by, it’ll offer a challenge for those without their VR legs.
Car racing games in one form or another are surprisingly well represented in terms of VR support, with the likes of Assetto Corsa, Project Cars and recently iRacing all with support for the consumer Oculus Rift (albeit not the Vive just yet). Motorbikes? Not so much.
Coming soon from Microids and Anuman Interactive, Moto Racer 4 is a motocross game which promises support for Sony’s forthcoming PlayStation VR headset, as well as the prospect of dirt and asphalt riding across 15 different modes – all powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4.
One note here though, although PSVR support is writ large across this trailer, it’s not clear in what way the title will integrate virtual reality. It would be extremely brave of the developers to place the player into first person mode on a game which obviously will have the player’s view leaning and lurching around as they traverse the tracks – so we’re wondering if 3rd person modes will be used instead.
Either way, the new game is set to arrive on October 13th on PC and consoles, which also just happens to be the month PSVR is released.
