New Esper ‘VR’ Trailer and Screenshots Appear Ahead of E3 Crescent Bay Showing

Esper, from UK based Coatsink Software, is a charming virtual reality puzzle game that was recently unveiled as part of Oculus’ consumer Rift launch line up next year. Ahead of it’s showing at E3 2015 in LA this week, the team have released a new trailer and screenshots.

Set in the 1970’s, Esper is a first person puzzle title which puts you in the shoes of a test subject, out to prove to the government your extra-sensory abilities don’t pose a threat to humanity. The title has a familiar (and altogether welcome) whiff of Valve’s classic Portal series, but manages to pull it off with a style all its own, sardonic wit notwithstanding.

The game will be on show at Oculus’ stand demoing on the Crescent Bay and will be updated to take advantage of the VR headset’s capabilities.

Already available on the Oculus ‘powered’ Samsung Gear VR headset, this new version apparently upgrades the visuals significantly to take advantage of the average gaming PC’s extra rendering clout.

We’re hoping to go hands-on with the game next week at Oculus’ booth, but in the mean time, feast your eyes on these new screenshots and trailer.

We’re in LA all week for E3 2015, stay tuned to Road to VR for everything virtual reality at the show.
