News Bits: Oculus Connect Conference Tickets Priced at $249

Oculus VR has confirmed the price for their inaugural developer conference, Oculus Connect. Tickets will be priced at $249. Oculus Connect registration opened on Wednesday without any pricing information.

Oculus calls the Connect event “a developer conference that brings together engineers, designers, and creatives from around the world to share and collaborate in the interest of creating the best virtual reality experiences possible.”

The event was announced earlier this month with developer registration planned to begin on the 10th. After a delay, Oculus opened registration on Wednesday, but pricing information was still notably absent. A new item has been added to the FAQ on the Oculus Connect website confirming that the price will be $249 for a ticket to the event:

Oculus is still shoring up the Connect schedule, but says keynote speakers include Oculus VR’s Brendan Iribe (CEO), Palmer Luckey (Founder), John Carmack (CTO), and Michael Abrash (Chief Scientist). The conference will also include sessions and workshops led by Oculus employees and others from the VR industry. The company says that the full session list will be available closer to the show. The event is open to the public, but it’s stressed that this is a “developer-centric” event. Under ‘Who should attend?’ on the Oculus Connect FAQ, the company writes, “Anyone with an interest in developing great virtual reality content: VR developers, gaming, entertainment and cinematic content makers, innovators, creative thinkers, enthusiasts and more.”
