During the keynote speech at Oculus Connect, a new arcade app was revealed by head of mobile Max Cohen for the Samsung Gear VR platform. Oculus calls it simply Arcade.
With Oculus Arcade, the company is bringing classic titles from Sega, Midway and Bandai Namco to the Gear VR platform.
In a clear push to satisfy the right price-point with their newly announced $99 Gear VR, a mobile VR device compatible with all flagship Samsung phones in November, Oculus is filling out their content offerings with classic titles like Pac-Man (1980), Gauntlet (1987), and Sonic the Hedgehog (1991).
Oculus Arcade will also play as a proverbial catch-all for their other, newer game titles like Gunjack, Deer Hunter VR, Land’s End, and Esper 2 to name a few.
