Oculus today announced Killing Floor: Incursion, a Touch-enabled cooperative VR shooter from the makers of the Killing Floor franchise, Tripwire Interactive. The announcement of the Killing Floor: Incursion comes hot on the heels of Oculus’ pre-E3 game announcement of Wilson’s Heart, another title designed for Touch controllers.
The Killing Floor series is all about the carnage of mowing down ever increasing waves of zombie-like creatures in a grungy sci-fi setting, and it looks like the VR version is certainly going to live up to the franchise’s namesake, what with their ‘guns, blades, and more’ approach to first-person combat.
Using your own two hands to pick up blades and slice at incoming zombies in the decrepit houses of the series new VR version looks extremely compelling. Armed with a gold-etched pistol and a number of other weapons in the multiplayer game, you’re sure to get caught up in the mayhem.
Tripwire Interactive first created the original Killing Floor as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod, and has since seen several iterations across a number of devices. Killing Floor: Incursion is the studio’s first foray into VR development.
