A few weeks back we learned that the ever popular Team Fortress 2 (TF2) would get Oculus Rift support; it was also revealed that Oculus Rift owners would get a unique TF2 hat (a popular in-game item type). Today the TF2 Oculus Rift hat is officially redeemable by those who were part of the Oculus Rift Kickstarter and apparently anyone who ordered through the Oculus website before April 1st.
The hat, officially known as the TF2VRH (Team Fortress 2 Very Rectangular Hat), can be redeemed by going to the Oculus Account Info page and entering the email address associated with your order. Oculus will email you a link to your order status page, where you’ll find a ‘claim code’ button toward the top of the page.
Then you can follow these instructions to activate the hat inside of TF2. As some speculated, the TF2 Oculus Rift hat cannot be traded inside of the game. Here’s the official in-game description of the item:
