Propagation VR (2020), the VR survival horror game for PC VR headsets, is getting a sequel called Propagation: Paradise Hotel, and it’s coming next week.

Update (April 27th, 2023): WanadevStudio announced Propagation: Paradise Hotel is coming on May 4th to Quest 2 and SteamVR headsets. You can now wishlist it on the Quest Store and Steam.

In Propagation: Paradise Hotel you are a solo adventurer taking on the role of Emily Diaz, who must explore the Paradise Hotel’s dark surroundings to find her lost twin sister Ashley. Use items, weapons, and tools as you progress through the story, which is filled with savage creatures thanks to a strange illness.

Check out the final gameplay trailer below:

Original Article (December 3rd, 2021): During Upload VR’s showcase, developer WanadevStudio unveiled the upcoming sequel, which promises to be an “intense VR survival horror adventure with thrilling storytelling, in which you will explore dark environments, make terrifying encounters and get your adrenaline pumping.”

WanadevStudio says the sequel will be a single-player adventure taking place in the Propagation universe, which will serve up a story that focuses on exploration, stealth, and action. And plenty of zombies and mutants.

Propagation VR launched for free on Steam back in September 2020, garnering it an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ user rating on the platform for its visceral zombie-shooting experience.

Wanadev estimates a late 2022 release on SteamVR headsets for Paradise Hotel (see update). The studio hasn’t mentioned whether the game is coming to other platforms besides SteamVR, however it has done so with its previous title Ragnarock (2021), a Viking-themed rhythm game launched for both SteamVR and Oculus Quest.

The 1st ones a simple stand in place shooter. Similar to house of the dead. It’s relatively short, about 30 minutes and you can play with 1 other person in the co-op dlc. Only thing similar to Arizona Sunshine is it has zombies.

    • Ookami

1st one was a title designed for VR arcades. It’s free on Steam, and the graphics alone make it worth trying it out.

  • OOo, this is a sequal to that subway, stand-in-place, viral wave shooter that the YouTubers seemed to like. There wasn’t a ton interesting about the first one, it seemed like just a demo. I was wondering why a project that seems to have virtually nothing to show was getting a mention here.

  • ViRGiN

it’s not that zombies are overplayed in VR. it’s just all VR zombie games are dogshit.
everyone just wants COD zombies, which are available for some time on quest through contractors. and that’s the proper zombies to play.

nobody will complain if “another vr fps” comes and it’s actually a real COD or something.

    • Ookami

I actually agree with you somewhat here. I just don’t think it’s COD zombies that people specifically want. People just want quality zombie games. That’s why people got hyped for the RE2/3 vr mods, and why people care about Saints and Sinners (tho ch2 sounds like it was a disappointment).

Personally I’d prefer a atmospheric creepy story-based zombie game, over COD zombies, but that’s just my own personal tastes

      • ViRGiN

RE could be with random monsters or cyborgs and it would work as well.
I don’t think most people think of RE when they talk about zombies – I guess even Left 4 Dead would come up much sooner. But that’s another Valve game, and Valve don’t care about VR so it’s not coming.

Saints and Sinners is the equvialent of “we have zombies at home”. People pick this, cause there is very little to choose from.

        • Ookami

Well, yes, people don’t really think of RE when it comes to zombies, but if you really think about it, that’s mostly who you fight in RE2 and RE3. But they mix it up with puzzles, great story, more of a focus on horror, and of course more varied enemies.

Since the article doesnt mention it the game is also on the playstation store for psvr2 so should be available very soon.

  • Ookami

I’m glad they seem to be including more mutated zombie types. Hopefully they’ll have giant spiders and other mutated horrors like in the first game. That would really help set it apart from the rest.

Honestly these trailers don’t look super impressive, but a gameplay snippet I saw a while back really caught my attention with how well it handled the creepy tense atmosphere. I hope it leans into the horror side rather than the action side.
