PSA: Oculus Kickstarter Backers Have Until February 1st to Claim Free Rift

    Categories: News Bits

Backers who supported Oculus’ 2012 Kickstarter are getting a free consumer Rift headset courtesy of the company, but only if you submit your details by February 1st.

In a surprise announcement earlier this month, Oculus said they’d be giving all of their Kickstarter backers (at a level to receive the DK1 development kit) a free limited edition consumer Rift headset as a thanks for their support in the 2012 campaign which got the ball rolling for the company.

To claim the Kickstarter Edition Oculus Rift, backers need to fill out a form sent by email (to the address associated with their Kickstarter account) by February 1st—less than a week from today. If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to find the form in your email and plug in your info. With Rift pre-orders pushed all the way back to July, you definitely don’t want to delay. If you’re having trouble finding the email, you may want to reach out to Oculus Support.

Having received pledges for some 7,400 Rift DK1 units, Oculus’ commitment to their backers totals $4.4 million worth of consumer Rift headsets which can currently be pre-ordered for $599.
