Rev VR Podcast (Ep. 86): Evangelizing VR to the World with UploadVR

Evangelizing virtual reality to the world is a difficult task. Each day, we creep closer to the consumer release of multiple VR devices that will disrupt technology as we know it, and the world needs to be prepared. Many of us are trying our best to spread the word of VR, one demonstration at a time. The team at UploadVR intends to take that notion on the road, touring cities around the world to inform and enlighten.

In this episode, Will, Taylor, Nick, and A.J. join me to discuss their plans to spread the good word of VR through their vision. UPLOAD, as they call it, will be a series of events that will bring together developers, enthusiasts, and average consumers under one roof to bask in the potential of virtual reality. Unlike traditional meetups, these events are intended to bring in folks from the street who will have a chance to experience VR possibly for the first time, and to have candid conversations with developers.

With a background in marketing, this team is gearing up to bring their events to several major cities in the US, and then hop across the pond to hit Europe, and beyond. With an already impressive list of sponsors and participants, the UploadVR team is setting themselves up to be major players in the VR evangelization game.

They are kicking off their Virtual Reality World Tour on January 16th, 2015 at the Metreon in San Francisco, California.

For more information about UploadVR and their events, you can check out their Eventbrite page, their Meetup page, or their main Upload VR website. If you are a developer and would like to get involved with these events, please fill out their form here.

I want to thank the team from UploadVR for taking time out of their busy day to be guests on the podcast.
