Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality (2017) from developer Owlchemy Labs is headed to PlayStation VR next year.

If you enjoyed Job Simulator (2016)—which remains one of PSVR’s most popular titles more than a year after launch—then you’re in for a treat with Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality coming to PSVR next year.

Created by developer Owlchemy Labs in collaboration with Adult Swim, Rick and Morty VR is an unapologetic fusion of Job Simulator and the hit animated show. The game is fully-voiced by Rick and Morty co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland, and draws heavily upon the show’s characters and gags.

The game is due out in 2018, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet. Owlchemy Labs also just announced Vacation Simulator, their sequel to Job Simulator, which is coming to PSVR and other tethered headsets in 2018.

For those of you with PSVR, and haven’t experienced this game, it’s similar to Job Simulator in the Rick and Morty universe (as noted in the article above). I’ve had a lot of fun playing this on the Vive, and I would highly recommend it.

Does this game take you on an adventure, like ALL the Rick and Morty TV shows? Or is this some stupid simulation in the Rick and Morty lab, and that’s it. If it’s just a simulation, then this is not a game. Please stop making these stupid overpriced Walled Garden simulations and give us real games.

It’s fun, really fun! But it’s not worth £22 for an hour long game, with not much replay value

If you consider sand-boxes to not be real games, then this is not for you. It is however quite novel to “be in the presence” of R&M, and tool around in the lab and a couple areas you go to. I firmly believe that the interest Justin Roiland has in VR will result in a true R&M VR adventure game one day, but this was released to capitalize on the current popularity of R&M and to allow his new company, Squanchtendo to experiment.

While this is a room-scale “playground”, there IS a story. It’s amusing, and there are some spectacular parts. Owlchemy’s interaction system is second to none, and that’s what really makes it stand out among the pile of VR playgrounds. I’d love a full R&M adventure, but it’d be heavily scripted, and fun ONCE.
