Road to VR’s Ben Lang to Speak and Moderate at First Annual SVVR Conference & Expo

Road to VR Founder & Executive Editor, Ben Lang, has been asked to speak and moderate at the first annual SVVR Conference & Expo hosted this month in Mountain View, CA.

The first annual SVVR Conference & Expo is pulling together the biggest names in the consumer VR space for two days of talks, pitches, panels, demos, networking, and more:

Our mission is to provide an annual forum for developers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and investors in the emerging consumer virtual reality industry to come together for discussions, networking, and to showcase promising ideas, startups, and projects with a good old-fashioned show-and-tell, while maintaining a strong connection to the grassroots VR community that we emerged from.

SVVR has been holding monthly VR meetups since May 2013. The Conference & Expo, held on May 19th and 20th at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA, marks the organization’s one year anniversary. Tickets to the event are still available and Road to VR readers can save $100 using the promo code ‘RTOVR2014’.

About Ben Lang

Based in Philadelphia, Ben has held editorial positions across several tech sites for some six years, moving from one site to the next to follow the bleeding edge of technology. Ben founded Road to VR to explore the immense possibilities of virtual reality, augmented reality, and human-computer interaction. As an avid gamer, Ben believes that virtual reality represents the holy grail of immersive entertainment, with the very real possibility of influencing industries far beyond it.

Nearly a year before the Oculus Rift Kickstarter launched, Ben had a hunch that technological capability was finally catching up to the promise of virtual reality. He has been tracking the virtual reality world on Road to VR since 2011 and has attended major industry gatherings like CES and GDC since that time for the sole purpose of reporting virtual reality developments.

“There’s something about virtual reality and augmented reality that absolutely intrigues me. Virtual reality gaming is going to be big, but the possibilities beyond it are even more exciting. The pieces of the VR puzzle are slowly coming together and this site is a way to see how far we are down the road to true VR.”
