Samsung Opens Signup Page to Gauge Interest in ‘Project Beyond’ VR Camera

Although the company isn’t ready to release it as a commercial product just yet, Samsung is now soliciting the interest of content creators who might want to make use of their ‘Project Beyond’ VR camera.

Project Beyond is a VR camera birthed from Samsung’s Think Tank Team, an internal design team focused on “turning disruptive concepts into products that connect objects, environments, information and people.”

The Think Tank Team has recently opened a signup page to gauge interest in Project Beyond and see what people might want to use the camera for and the requirements for their use-cases:

We are really excited about being able to share the Project Beyond prototypes with people who will use the cameras in exciting and unexpected ways. Because of the amount of interest, we would love for you to fill out a short survey to help up keep track of everyone as we focus on working out all the technical details.

The camera, which was announced late last year, shoots 360 degree stereoscopic video. Samsung calls it the “smallest true 3D omniview camera in the world,” and also says that it’s capable of streaming its footage in real-time.
