‘The Peterson Case’ Looks Terrifying and Beautiful in Equal Measure

The Peterson Case is a title from developers Quarter Circle Games which places you in the shoes of detective Franklin Reinhardt as he tries to unravel the mystery behind 2 missing families. Built in Unity 5 with VR support, it looks both wonderfully atmospheric and frankly terrifying.

The UK based developers of The Peterson Case, Quarter Circle Games, are currently running a Steam Greenlight campaign for the title – pitched to release on PC and Xbox One with ‘VR support’ (no details on precisely which VR platform though).

The title promises a semi procedural approach to gameplay sessions, with clues randomised on a per play-through basis, which is a neat way to unsettle players interested in replay value.

What impresses most is the attention to detail and lighting the developers have lavished on this glimpse at the title – playing with shadow in virtual reality can be a particularly effective way to unnerve players, and given how effective just the video manages that, god knows what it’d be like with a VR headset strapped to your face.

Check out the game’s Steam Greenlight here and you can check in the developers over at their website here.
