Sony has compiled a list of the top 10 PSVR games downloaded in 2017. Based on the number of downloads from PlayStation Store (and not total revenue), the list gives us a good idea of what’s been popular with PSVR owners this past year.

It’s unclear if the list below also includes free games as well, but considering all of the games listed are paid games, it seems unlikely. Without further ado, here’s the list.

2017’s Top 10 Most Downloaded PSVR Games

  1. Job Simulator
  2. Superhot VR
  3. PlayStation VR Worlds
  4. I Expect You To Die
  5. Batman: Arkham VR
  6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
  7. Fruit Ninja VR
  8. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
  9. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
  10. Driveclub VR

Owlchemy Labs’ Job Simulator tops the chart, and considering it was a launch day title released back in October 2016, it only serves as a testament to the game’s ability to appeal to a wide audience. It’s something you can throw everyone from a grandmother to a 6-year old kid.

Interestingly enough, the number two spot goes to Superhot VR, showing just how successful the game has been since it was launched only in July 2017, giving it only 6 months to move up the ‘most downloaded’ list.

Also interesting to note is the lack of Impulse Gear’s FarpointRoad to VR’s PSVR Game of the Year. While Farpoint doesn’t require the use of the PS Aim gun controller, most consider Aim a ‘must buy’ to play the alien bug-squashing shooter, which could add a greater barrier to entry to the already $60 game.

Not true at all. I’ve been playing DoomVR, Eve Valkyrie, Sparc, Ancient Amulator, Arizona Sunshine, Bound, Eve Gunjack, and Battlezone and having a blast. There is a long list coming in 2018 too. That is really good compared to what you must purchase to run on high end PC and VR goggles whixh I would prefer but cost is high and money is money.

It’s only $200 to $300 extra at this point.

Interesting list. Maybe a lot of people (like me) will have got hard copies of farpoint as part of the Aim bundle. So no need to download it.

    • Ben

Was thinking the same. Most people I know that have Farpoint got it as a bundle.

  • Peter Hansen

    Was Resident Evil also bundled?
