The appetite for virtual reality industry gatherings seem to be insatiable at the moment. UK based SouthWest VR just announced that it’s last sell-out event was so successful, they’re re-branding it with a view to expand its global appeal. What’s more, they’ve just opened submissions for talks for those interested in speaking at the conference.
This year’s VR World Congress will feature two talk tracks: a Main Track suitable for delegates from a variety of different backgrounds plus a Tech Track that developers cannot afford to miss. Alongside the talk tracks are a dedicated VR expo and meeting area for buyers and sellers to connect.
Talk Submissions are now open too, head here to submit your ideas. and the event will consider a wide variety of subjects across the VR domain, but are particularly interested in the following:
- VR in gaming
- Social VR
- Networking and conferencing in VR
- VR in architecture
- VR in engineering
- VR filmmaking
- The crossover between VFX and VR
- VR and data visualisation
- VR in education
- VR in medicine
This year, the VR World Congress has attracted sponsorship from AMD and its LiquidVR initiative, a collection of APIs and technologies designed to enhance the rendering of virtual reality visuals, lowering latency and increasing frame rates.
It’s great to see the UK playing host to more and more leading virtual reality industry events, a sign that interest in the technology has reached new highs across the world. We’ll keep you up to date on how the event develops.
