Facebook’s annual developer conference F8 starts today. While the company launched the long-awaited $200 Oculus Go standalone headset there this morning, it wasn’t certain if the rumors were true, that F8 attendees would be receiving a headset for free. Spoiler alert: they did.
Update (2:00 PM ET): It’s official, Mark Zuckerberg just announced on stage that everyone at F8 is getting an Oculus Go. You get a VR headset, and you get a VR headset, and you get a VR headset!

The image below was posted yesterday by Marco Antonio Liu, co-founder at HappinssVR, a studio working in mobile VR. According to the image, attendees are taking home an Oculus Go (one per person) on May 2nd.
Multiple sources have purportedly confirmed that launch would come at F8, and while along with Amazon and Best Buy stocking up, the image tickles the underlying suspicion that we may indeed see Oculus Go coming soon.
We have feet on the ground at this year’s F8, which takes place May 1-2, so make sure to check back. You’ll be able to watch the livestream keynote here, which starts at 10 AM PT (your local time here).
