Visionary VR, a stealth virtual reality startup which announced a $6 million fundraise back in March, will give the first glimpse of their VR storytelling application at VRLA.

VRLA Summer Expo 2016 is fast approaching. Among a packed list of exhibitors, keynote speaker Reggie Watts, and even a ‘VR Rave’, the show will be the first opportunity to see Visionary VR’s “app for creating stories in VR” in action.

Founded by VRLA co-founders Jonnie Ross, Adam Levin, and Cosmo Scharf alongside Gil Baron and Luke Patterson, Visionary VR announced back in March they had raised $6 million to build their vision. Beyond that though, the company has remained rather stealthy, hinting only that the product would offer a way to easily make and tell stories in virtual reality.

Way back at the beginning of 2015, before Visionary VR went dark, we spoke with co-founders Jonnie Ross and Gil Baron who, at the time, explained how the company was attempting to form the language for VR storytelling in VR, by offering a way to prevent viewers from missing important parts of the narrative.

Since then, it seems the company may have pivoted into something different, possibly relating to some of the in-VR animation, filming, and editing tools they had spoken of previously.

Whatever they’re working on, they’ll be revealing it at VRLA Summer Expo 2016 during a presentation on the first day of the event, August 5th. You can still save 15% off of the Pro Pass ticket to the event with discount code”RoadtoVRLovesVRLA”.

In addition to the Visionary VR reveal, VRLA says Summer Expo 2016 will be host to a keynote by performer Reggie Watts, and “the world’s first VR Rave, presented by Skullcandy… in collaboration with The Wave, Phasespace, SubPac, 3D Live, and WeLens, attendees will be able to experience DJs mixing live music inside VR.”
