Reload Studios, a VR development studio formed by former Call of Duty developers, has announced that they’ve received a $2 million investment from World Innovation Lab.
World Innovation Lab is a tech investment firm based in Silicon Valley and Tokyo. The company is the sole investor in this unspecified Series funding round. The company also participated in Survios’ Series A investment back in 2014.

Reload Studios founder James Chung says that the funds will be used to “help us focus on developing and promoting our current projects as well as growing Reload Studios beyond just a development studio.”
World Innovation Lab’s CEO & co-founder says about the investment, “We view Reload not as a VR gaming studio, but as a true pioneer in VR entertainment.” Taken together with Chung’s statement, it sound as if Reload Studios has plans beyond VR game development alone.
Reload Studios is solely dedicated to virtual reality development. They say they have three major projects in the works, though the first that they’ve announced is World War Toons, a VR FPS with a cartoon aesthetic and a unique control scheme designed to combat sim sickness.
