VR broadcasting company NextVR has partnered with FOX Sports to bring tonight’s Premier Boxing Champions live in virtual reality to the Gear VR headset. You can watch it for free starting at 8PM ET tonight (Saturday, January 23rd).
NextVR has been leading the way in working with major sporting organizations to bring the experience to virtual reality. Their latest cooperation to broadcast tonight’s Premier Boxing Champions matchup comes as the first North American boxing match to be broadcast live in virtual reality, according to the company. We’ve previously seen NextVR bring content from NASCAR, NBA, NFL, USGA, NHL and more to virtual reality.
Tonight’s live boxing match, which you can watch for free with the NextVR app on Gear VR starting at 8PM ET (your timezone here), features the undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) against former three-division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs), live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
NextVR will have multiple cameras in the venue, including a ringside view, which will be accompanied by graphics and commentary.
