10. MoonRacer

This is a combat racer on the moon designed for VR. Trick out your Lunar Rover, then blast across the moonscape against 4 AI drones. Remember…Speed Kills: any collision north of 100 will obliterate your poor rover. Speed Pads will give you a boost, but be sure to avoid debris and other racers to avoid destruction. At your disposal is a very powerful laser mounted on the front of your rover which can move most objects and blow up others. You also have a magna-beam which will pull in most objects including your opponents. For no particular reason you also have access to thermal vision, which makes no sense, but it is fun. Try to see how fast you can complete the race without exploding or just tool around the moon blowing things up.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
